A new Publication by Ramallah Center for Human Rights Studies (RCHRS) The Ramallah Center for Human Rights Studies (RCHRS) and the Arab Network for Tolerance published a study entitled "The Other in Arab Press" in January 2010. This study examines how the Arab Press deals with the concept of the "other". Specifically one who opposes the journals' religious, political, ideology approaches as well as their perspectives. This publication studies the press in six Arab countries: Yemen, Algeria, Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan and Palestine. RCHRS found it important to publish this journal highlighting these countries recent positive experiences and diversity in their press. . This publication reflects RCHRS interest in human rights and media in the Arab World. This publication specifically tackles the press in the Arab world in order to push toward a professional and objective media that aims to solidify the civil peace and respect the ideological, cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in the whole world. Also, it is a step toward using diversity and pluralism as a power that creates a flourishing and democratic Arab communities. |
