RCHRS believes in the importance of a democratic and independent education system.  Our Educational Rights and Academic Freedoms Program aims to enhance the teaching of democracy within the Palestinian school system, ensure a liberal education for all students, protect the right to free speech of all academics, promote civic participation, challenge the influence of governments and religious organizations in Palestinian schools and universities, and support the inclusion of human rights and tolerance in student culture. 

Through our program we monitor all attempts to violate educational rights and academic freedoms both in schools and at post-secondary institutions.  We are committed to recording these violations regardless of whether they are the result of Israeli occupation policies or local political parties, Palestinian factions, security forces or university administrations.
