Ramallah Center for Human Rights Studies (RCHRS) conducted a seminar to discuss Dr. Iyad Barghoutis’ book “Political Secularism and the Religious Question in Palestine”. A number of intellectuals, journalists and University students attended the seminar in Gaza today.

Talal Okal, writer and political analyst, discussed how the religious question was dealt with in the secular parties in Palestine, at the forefront Fateh movement, the largest Palestinian political movement, with multiple intellectual and ideological sources which are disparate occasionally, and which describes itself as the movement of all Palestinians.

On April 15, 2012, Ramallah Center for Human Rights Studies (RCHRS) conducted a political intellectual seminar moderated by Dr. Ahmad Al-Barqawi, Professor of Philosophy in Damascus University, entitled “the Implications of the Arab Mass Movement on the Palestinian Cause”. Dr. Iyad Barghouti participated in the seminar as well as a number of politicians, intellects, Academics, and interested people.

Dr. Iyad Barghouti, head of the Arab Network for Tolerance and General director of Ramallah Center for Human Rights Studies (RCHRS), presented the Arab Tolerance Award to the Lebanese actress and director Nadine Labaki for her movie “W Hala’ La Wain” during the opening reception of the Fourth Conference of the Arab Network for Tolerance in Isam Fares’ Hall of the American University in Beirut on April 20, 2012.
